Before you escape the bustling city and head up to cottage country, stop by the Spring Cottage Life Show. Cottage Life magazine is hosting its 24th annual event from March 31 to April 2 at the International Centre in Mississauga, Ont., to help kick-off the season.
Peruse over 550 exhibitors showing the latest in cottage design and renovations, or get advice from leading industry professionals on buying and selling your properties. We'll be there all weekend, so come by our booth and say hi!
Here’s a few highlights to check out.
Friday March 31:
Going green? Head over to the Cottage Kitchen for sustainable entertaining ideas and recipes. At 3:30 p.m., learn how to cook with homegrown greens and herbs, followed by a presentation on cooking your own catch.
Later, at 5 p.m., Rob Serediuk, the host of What’s For Sale? on Cottage Life Television, is talking about the truths and myths of cottage real estate at the Main Stage.
Saturday April 1:
What’s better than meeting your favourite small-screen stars? Start the day off talking all things decor with renowned design professional, Debbie Travis, at 11 a.m. at the Main Stage. At 2 p.m., Colin McAllister and Justin Ryan of Colin & Justin’s Cabin Pressure, discuss undertaking cottage renovations.
Need a break from the indoors? Over at the Outdoor Room, see the latest in all-weather furniture and electronics. In keeping with the season, the Dock Party area is serving Muskoka Brewery beer and tasty caesars. Cheers to that!
Sunday April 2:
Get a handle on cottage sharing and rental agreements with two expert panels at 11 a.m. and 12 p.m. at the Main Stage. If you’re feeling crafty, check out the Cottage Workshop arena to learn how to build your own outdoor shower.
To wrap up the weekend, visit the Real Estate Centre, where over 100 Ontario realtors are ready to answer your questions about buying a new cottage. Happy hunting!
